The Limey Revolution

With most people these days focusing on the head and the grip of the club, it seems logical that what joins the two is just as, if not more important than anything else. For the last decade Graman (one of the larger manufacturers of golf shafts) has consistently produced top quality shafts for years. But their latest release, the Ultimate Series shafts (appropriately nicknamed Limeys) are turning heads around the golfing world.

The exact specifications of the Ultimate Series shafts can be found on Graman?s website: http://www.gramanshafts.com/products_ul.htm

Now before I continue, I?d just like to let you know that I have not actually used these shafts before. However after reading numerous reviews from all kinds of sources, here?s my take on the Ultimate Series shafts:

The first thing that you will notice is of course the colour. The bright fleuro-yellow stands out even more with a dark grip and club head. Some people hate it, some people love it, but either way it is a unique colour that is sure to generate attention.

The shafts are slightly heavier than most other shafts, however most people who have used them say that while it is a little different, it still feels extremely nice to swing.

The shaft gives a very strong kick just before impact which really sends the ball those extra yards. However, the torque is balanced correctly to make sure that the club still stays in control and lets you achieve those long drives much more consistently.

While the shafts are designed for low handicap players, they are versatile enough to be used by anybody. Opting for a less stiff shaft is probably a better idea too, as they can handle higher swing speeds fairly easily.

But of course, in order to really maximize the performance of the shaft, it must be combined with the right club head. The ?right? club head will be different for everybody, so it?s probably best to contact Graman if you are a bit unsure of what combinations to use, or if you have any other questions.
